Do you use your Banks Faster Pay to Pay your VAT bill?

If you pay your VAT liability on the day it is due using the banks faster pay service, HMRC will say the payment is late.

Bank will confirm that the payment is instant. HMRC's website says that they do not accept faster pay payments. It therefore takes 3 days for this to clear in the normal way.

In future please allow sufficient time to ensure the payment arrives by the due date.
